Claude Code is an AI coding agent that runs with a harness controlling its prompt‑to‑action loop. The platform exposes a plug‑in system called Mods, written in TypeScript or JavaScript, which can intercept prompts, tool calls, and interface renders. Mods adjust the execution flow, modify displays, and can even replace default responses.
